Decide if you have a good story
Have all you need for a pitch*
*Don’t be the person a reporter asks for more info. Most won’t bother. Provide what’s needed upfront.
Pitch Filter Questions for B2B Companies:
What type of news is this (e.g. milestone, report, case study, opinion)?
Do we have proprietary data?
Dreamy headline?
How is this newsworthy?
Whom are we trying to reach?
Collateral (e.g. graphic, headshot)?
Do we have the client/customer approval?
How will this be supported on other channels?
How does this tie back to us and our narrative?
If the topic has been covered, how is this different?
Got a case study? If a client is involved, name them:
Why should someone outside our company care now?
Which sources will tell this story? (e.g. name, title, company)
